What Is Softwashing
There are many external building areas on commercial and residential properties that feature unique surface materials or rendering that can either be a feature to give character to the building, or form part of the company branding.
In many cases these are constructed from some special and often expensive materials that need special attention when cleaning.
Like all building exterior areas, these surfaces will become dirty over time and will periodically require cleaning in order to remove things like grime, mould and even bird poo.
There are a number of challenges to be considered when looking to clean such areas, with things like potential damage to the finish through harsh pressure cleaning, as well as access to high areas in order to properly clean the surface.
This is where our specialist softwash cleaning process is an ideal choice.
Instead of dirt and grime being cleaned from the area with high pressure cleaning, the softwash process involves the application of a cleaning solution through a spray applicator. This is then left to dwell on the area for a period of time. The dwell process can vary depending on the surface and stains being treated.
After the required dwell time, the area is then rinsed down with low pressure cleaning to wash off the cleaning solution along with the dirt and grime.
As you can see in the video here, this process is a great option for cleaning surfaces that may be prone to damage if exposed to direct pressure cleaning, and is great for homes, apartment blocks, commercial property and facilities.
