Rust Stains on Render
The use of rendered finishes on exterior walls of both commercial and residential property is very common and can provide at great look and add character to the building.
Exterior wall areas often have a number of metal fittings and fixtures that attach to them, which can commonly lead to rust stains on the rendered finish.
When water gets between the metal fixture and the wall, corrosion inevitably takes place and the result is usually rust contaminated water running down the render.
The metal particles from the corrosion latch onto the render finish and embed into the render and continue to corrode. This results in a rusty coloured stain that is running down the wall, which is not a good look.
As rust particles embed themselves quite deeply into a surface and continue to corrode, these stains will darken and become worse over time, leaving a stain that seems impossible to clean.
