Cleaning Factory, Warehouse and Workshop Floors

It’s common to see concrete floors inside factories, warehouses and workshops that have been sealed with an epoxy coating. Some of the reasons people have these floor areas sealed with an epoxy product includes protecting the bare concrete from heavy traffic, improve and brighten the look of the internal spaces, protect the floor from substance spills, and make the floor areas easier to keep clean.

All of these are valid reasons to have a factory or workshop floor sealed, however there are times when these floors will require a better clean than can be achieved using a broom or floor sweeper.

It is not uncommon to find these floor areas with a lot of surface dirt build-up that sweeping alone can not remove. Additionally, there can often be other marks on the floor coating from things like forklift or picker unit tyres, pallet trucks, storage containers, and even work boots.

When extra dirt build-up or marks are present on the floor coating, it is recommended to have the floor pressure cleaned. This process will loosen and wash away tough dirt along with any tyre marks or other stains.

However, it is usually not possible to perform regular pressure cleaning inside a factory, warehouse or workshop as the water from this cleaning process will see water affect large areas of the facility and potentially impact equipment or stock that is kept nearby.

At The Stain Eaters, we can perform pressure cleaning in such areas using enclosed spin-jet pressure cleaning units that are attached to a vacuum recovery system. This allows the floor to be properly pressure cleaned, while keeping all the water contained inside the cleaning unit where it cannot run off into other areas of the building.

Custom-built pressure cleaning units are fitted to each of our team’s surface restoration vehicles and are driven by the truck’s PTO system. These units can be run at pressures up to 3000 psi and are also connected to on-board boiler units to allow for the use of hot water through the pressure cleaning units.

This makes our cleaning process very effective and efficient and allows our technicians to get the best results on every cleaning job.
